Current Projects; Penrhyn Castle Residency, National Trust  June and July 2015 http://www.nationaltrust.org.uk/penrhyn-castle/  and Arts Council of Wales http://www.artswales.org.uk/

Today I started a residency at Penrhyn Castle. Over the coming weeks I will be documenting the project as it progresses.

There will be two other artists who will also be resident at the castle this summer; they are Joanne Wardrop http://www.joannewardrop.com/ and Alec Stevens http://www.alecstevens.co.uk/. The residency has been curated by Sara Roberts https://sararobertsblog.wordpress.com/

Today I met a lot of people; staff and  volunteers. They were all very friendly and I was shown around. Penrhyn Castle is a big place and it is easy to get lost. I have a studio there and will be making work on site. Today I was getting my bearings and I began to make some experimental pieces playing with the shapes of the castle.

All these pieces play with paper cut outs based upon the shape of the castle and elements I drew in the interior such as inlaid patterning on a table and designs from wallpaper.I made lots of cut outs and then explored installing them in different spaces and photographing the different elements creating visual relationships.
